Description  Jeff Erickson is a professional saxophonist and educator who
performs throughout the Upper Midwest with his own quartet and as a solo
artist in jazz and latin music idioms. He holds a Master of Music degree
from DePaul University. His playing experience includes performances with

is the art form of setting lyrics to a jazz solo. Lucianne's own vocalese,

Description  Karen Francis was discovered by world reknown jazz master
pianist Stanley Cowell in Silver Spring, Maryland. She made her first
professional recording with Stanley entitled "Mandara Blossoms" which
featured original music written by Stanley and recorded for SteepleChase
Records. Since that first recording, she has become a bandleader,
performing and recording in her own right on the Steeplechase record label
with jazz masters such as George Cables, Lonnie Plaxico, and Mark Turner.
Karen carries the spirit and the energy of the original great singers. Her
newest release will be out in the first quarter of 2003, entitled "Better
Days", which was produced by Ms. Francis and which features original tunes
that were co-written by Ms. Francis as well as classic standards. The CD

Description  Scott Free is a guitarist and professor of jazz composition
at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has been a lecturer or clinician
at the 2000 IAJE Conference in New Orleans, at Boston Symphony Hall before
the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (1995), and at the Umbria Jazz Festival
for Berklee College of Music in Perugia, Italy (1997). He has performed
alongside Phil Wilson, Joe Hunt, Tim Ries, and Steve LaSpina, and has had
musical compositions/arrangements performed at jazz festivals and college
concerts in New England, the southern United States, and Scandinavia.

Description  Penetrating the New York scene, the "young lioness" Tia
Fuller has played with Mikey Roker Quartet, Tony Reedus, Charles
Fambrough, Don Byron's Big Band "Ebony Concerto" and the Duke Ellington
Orchestra. She has recently recorded with the Sean Jones Quintet (Mack
Avenue Records) and will be touring and recording with the Ralph Peterson
Sextet this up coming year. Tia has received her Masters degree (M.M.) in
Jazz Pedagogy and Performance that has led her to teach at the Stanford
Jazz Workshop, "Jazz in July" at University of Massachusetts at Amherst
and serve as a clinician at Ohio State Universiy's "Women in Jazz"
program. Currently she is teaching at the Jazz Institute of New Jersey
where she was selected as the keynote speaker for the class of 2003 and
plans to began her DMA in the fall of 2004. Quote: "As musicians it is
