Kelan Phil Cohran
At the age of five, Kelan Phil Cohran's mother insisted he take piano lessons, much to his chagrin - he wanted to play baseball instead. After much complaining she let him quit, but a few years later Cohran picked up the trumpet and music has been his life ever since. In 1961, after 3 years with Sun Ra, Cohran began integrating his music with his studies of astronomy and history. Find out what the founders of Earth, Wind, and Fire found so intriguing...

Tom Recchion
As a boy, Tom Recchion liked to pound on the seat of his mom's car so she bought him a drum set. Later, working at Pasadena's Poobah Records let him explore Hendrix, Cage, Stockhausen, Xenakis, the Soft Machine, and anybody else who was doing anything experimental - and he got paid for it. Since then his ears have never been the same. For 30 years he's worked gigs all over L.A. in venues ranging from abandoned ballrooms to the Getty Center. Tune in and hear what he's doing today...
