Description  Eli Yamin celebrates the rich living history and creative
process of American music in his work as a composer, educator, musical
director, pianist and radio producer. He has produced jazz programs for
NPR and WBGO-Jazz 88 and has toured internationally with the Illinois
Jacquet Big Band and his own trio and quintet. As a composer, Yamin
debuted Pushin 30 in 1998, a CD which featured ten original compositions.
He has also written scores for dance and film as well as three jazz
musicals performed by the students at the Louis Armstrong Middle School as
part of the Jazz Drama Program co-founded by Yamin.

Description  YoungBlood Brass Band: crowned the champions of the first
annual "Battle of the Brass Bands" (New Orleans, LA 3/6/2000), and winners
of Artist Direct's "Born on the Web" contest (www.bornontheweb.com,
9/9/2000) display more than just their dominance in the night clubs. This
eight-piece group of 21-24 year olds will teach your students about an
important era in American musical history while entertaining them with
award winning performances and musical examples detailing the evolution of
the brass band and its influence in today's music. They even use common
marching band instruments: trombone, trumpet, saxophone, snare drum, bass
drum, and sousaphone.

Description  Damon Zick and Friends play their own unique brand of
original jazz emphasizing melody, groove and communication. Damon's
compositions provide an eclectic wealth of departure points for some
top-notch improvisation. The band began playing together ten years ago
while attending the Eastman School of Music. Since then they have gone on
to perform concerts and master classes across the United States. Members
have performed and/or recorded with Steve Coleman, Ravi Coltrane, Don
Byron, Joe LaBarbera, Vinny Golia, Gerry Hemmingway, Bob Mintzer, the New
World Symphony, the Woody Herman orchestra, and many others.
